Welcome to the Poppy Patchwork Ascot Quilt Along.

After weeks of planning, I am thrilled that today is finally here – week 1 of the 10-week Quilt Along.

Please join me and many other quilters to see the creation of a 9-block quilt, including sashings and borders, during this 10-week quilt along.

Ascot Quilt Along 2023

Each week I will upload a new video to my YouTube channel and a PDF file to this website, with written instructions on how to make that week’s block.

Links to the videos and PDF files are available on the Ascot Quilt Along page here.

Please feel free to join in and make this quilt with me, and you can post pictures of your progress to my Instagram page using the tag #AscotQAL and @poppypatchworkprojects.

I hope you enjoy the Ascot Quilt Along and have a fantastic time.

This looks like such fun! I’m in recovery from a knee replacement. But this quilt along may just be the thing to put a spring back into my step!! Love these blocks and the colors you’ve chosen for them! Truly beautiful!!
    Happy Quilting!

    Hi Jayne,
I found your tutorials on YouTube and have subscribed. Your Ascot Quilt Along is the first online quilt along I have attempted. I love your fabric choices and the blocks you have chosen. I plan to add at least 3 more.

I have been quilting for 30 plus years but in 2021 that all came to a temporary end due to health issues. I had a liver transplant and in recovery, I lost my fine motor skills which made quilting impossible and more mental challenge than i could handle. I am thrilled to say that has changed and so your quilt along is going to test my focus and resolve. Some days I feel as sharp as a new needle and other times as dull as an old rotary blade. Quilting has become physical and mental therapy and now Ascot Quilt Along has become a part of that!

Since I did not have your choice of fabric at hand I chose some really nice autumn themed FQs and have been trying to align them with your choices. The light, medium, and dark was the easy part but then I ran into some challenges. I believe I found some inconsistencies in the pattern. The letters and fabric names/descriptions do not align on the different blocks. For example, fabric A on the Churn Dash block is fabric B on Sarah’s Choice block and so on. I believe the pattern will be more robust if this wee issue is resolved.

Thanks for listening and for the beautiful pattern!

    Cheers, Marcia
