A huge hello and welcome from all at Poppy Patchwork!

Itโ€™s been an exciting week at Poppy Patchwork HQ!

Our daughter turned 18! We had a family celebration to mark the occasion and she wanted an Afternoon Tea Party (she loves scones, clotted cream, and strawberry jam). Of course, we had to add some Prosecco to add a bit of fizz to the occasion! ๐Ÿพ

In other news, I was so pleased to receive a new set of fabrics for my stash this Christmas. Watch out for future quilting projects using these beautiful fabrics!

The Salem Star Quilt Block

Welcome to Week 2 of the “Cloud Nine Quilt” blog. The block this week is called Salem Star.

It features my โ€œpingโ€ fabric and has 3 elements, including corner squares in the center, half-square triangles (HSTs) making up Four Patches in the corners, and Flying Geese joined together to make chevrons.

This is a 9-patch block, so once all the elements are sewn together it is simple to construct. The measurements and instructions for making this block are in my YouTube video, released today, 14 January 2024.
